The week that was
As far as Mondays through Wednesdays go during a normal work week in August, I’ll be hard pressed to top this past week. Starting on Monday I met Mr. Zini for lunch after his Chi-town arrival, then we went our separate ways to dominate the evening music scene. Terz went to night one of the Phish run @ UIC Pavilion in Univeristy Village while I headed toward West Town to see Memory Tapes @ the Empty Bottle. Both were awesome shows and the night ended as many awesome nights for me do, with a large pie from Pequods followed by immediate pass out. Tuesday I left straight from work to meet up with Terz, who had just pulled a miracle by scoring me a face value ticket at last minute. We continued to get some solid lot chillin in, met some cool dudes, then were treated to a badass Phish show. I think the only way the night could have gone better would have been if Peyton Manning came out to direct the ‘Rocky Top’ encore. As expected, Wednesday topped it all. Throw in Deef for the evening, the added energy level with it being night three of a three night run, and a rediculous show, and you have the makings for a grand evening. The night capping burritos and tacos where the exclamation. I’m not really sure how I was able to drink, dance, and stay up until 2:00 am on three consectutive work nights and still be productive and timely at work, but I’m sure it had a lot to do with the positive vibes and energy that kept building from night to night. Not a bad way to start the week.
